Random stuff

Listening to: Rosetta stoned- Tool

umm where to start.....things have been hectic latley. We finally got the SFU project done and it was a nightmare! Just as that was being finalized I got a call from a dude at Rockstar games. He wanted to hire me as a junior modeller if I passed a test for him.... I was so excited ( its the studio that makes grand theft auto!) but at the same time frustrated because I had already signed the contract to work at mercury again starting in april. So even if I did get the job I would have to figure out how to get out of mercury which well, isnt very nice. Turns out the test was stupid hard and now I guess I know what is required to work in a game company :( and they never taught me any of it in school. Theres always next time. It made me a little depressed, but I was happy I didnt have to finish the damn test. Which is why I'm definetly reconsidering career choices. There is just too much technical crap and the creative/artistic side of it just gets lost.
So my mom was "employee of the year" which entitles her to a free trip to victoria to stay at a famous hotel for three nights! She is coming with my dad and is making a side trip to Nanaimo this weekend. We will be joining them for a couple nights. Yay. She really misses the island so this will be good for her. We dont really have any plans though. I'll see what the lovely town has to offer lol.
Ok I have here some drawings-its "pre-concept" line art for some tattoo flash i plan on maybe selling in the future any professional crits would be appreciated:) I'll get to the colouring soon enough. (hope they are not too big)

Downtown faux-pas

Listening to : little sister- Queens of the Stone Age

Ok I havent posted in quite awile but I've been busy with shit. We three recently took up a freelance job, recreating the simon fraser university campus in 3D. Alot is already done actually, we just have to optimize it, texture and make props. Which actually is alot! We endured a 1 hour bus ride to the mountain to take some photos, I'm not usually an "architecture" person but I do enjoy the design of this place. It looks like a space ship. I think the architect name is arthur erickson. cool guy.

I think its for their website. So students can figure out where to go. My visit home went well. And I guess you could say Im all edmontoned-out. I still like it though. I drank almost every night. . The other makes me sad. Its somewhat liberating actually I feel I have less of a connection to edmonton. Makes me consider moving to LA more. I have a guarenteed career there. It is a possibility. Though another path I'm really seriously considering is taking the steps to become a tattoo artist. I'm willing to go through the one year of mopping floors, scrubbing toilets, and making needles of being an apprentice. Its quite a competitive buisness now. They actually expect you to have a BFA or some sort of art degree. Ive started creating a portfolio and put in some of my flash. The only thing now is actually mustering up the courage to go up to a burly tattoo fellow/a and ask if they would be willing to teach me as their official apprentice. There are some fairly prestegious parlors a couple blocks away. So on the news theres been reports of "increased earthquake activity" and the next 2 weeks are critical for a major quake to hit southern BC. I hate earthquakes. Even in Elementry school I've always heard stories about the "big one". If there was an earthquake on the island. We'd be fucked. Im paranoid though. yay no paragraphs.
